so ... mostly because i'm still awake and enjoying my concert buzz i figured I'd try and start the trend of writing a short bit about the night in general before actually getting any sleep and more importantly perspective. so what you would be reading here would be more gut reaction, how was the night type of situation.
first off, i don't know how this will pan out but as soon as I got home I put on Bromst. Haha, I think that album is going to become something special.
But more importantly the show. Really I should have recorded my phone conversation with Bill, post show. Basically Pains of Being Pure at Heart were fucking epic. They may well be one of the best live bands I've ever seen. Or maybe I was disappointed that much by Titus Andronicus. Where I felt like none of their true sound carried over, and it was just a bunch of loud fuzzy guitars. If you didn't know the song well you wouldn't be able to tell what the fuck you were listening to.
Pains were the opposite. Their live show was actually BETTER than the album. They fucking cranked the shit out of their sound. I had rock boner all night. They fucking killed. I'm not particularly sure why they had such a good time, but thank jesus they did because the energy they brought was fucking amazing. I can only hope the next two shows are going to be as well received.
More on this show as a night of rest and contemplation will help evolve my current thoughts .... stick it to the fucking man ...
