dude, damon albarn produced sabali. hence why it is all different sounding. that song is downright amazing. wish the whole album was like that. but i'm still getting my jollies with the rest of the album. not feeling the "building" aspect you speak of. But instead just kind of enjoying the fact that it was the right time, right place for me to hear an amazing afro beat/blues based album. taking it for what it is. also, apparently this album focuses "less" on amadou's guitar work but i quickly identified the guitars as "fucking sick" almost immediately. decided to post this on my blog instead. pretty much the same if this had come through the email. but whatevs.
