bands making noise

well, i've gone and done it again. fell in love with another indie rock songstress. her name, Thao Ngyuen. I'm not sure how to pronounce her first name (her last only due to a brief stint as a budding tennis star).

In my possession are two albums. We Brave Bee Stings and All, and Know Better Learn Faster. The latter has a single that was posted on this blog, and she is accompanied by a group that goes as Get Down Stay Down.

Thus far I have been most draw to Bee Stings. It's a vibrant romp though indie pop haberdashery. Standouts include Geography, Bag of Hammers, and the title track. Know Better seems to pick up where Bee Stings left off but with more focus on a fuller song than the short sweet gems that lace Bee Stings. Either way, I highly recommend! Check the video below.

The other band is creating a lot of buzz even before the release of their first long player. Currently the band Suckers are attracting a lot of attention via their self titled EP. If it's a preview of what's to come expect an album full of your typical Brooklyn based hipster indie rock. think yeasayer meets cymbals eat guitars. Take away the electronic groove influences of the yea's, and remove the bravado and devotion to exploratory endevours of CEG ... and you get a pretty standard, but nonetheless fugin awesome sound with Suckers. Consider the whistle whet.
